Hifa, your ribbon embroidery work is beautiful! I tried doing some of it a long time ago, but your step by step tutorials make it so much easier to understand! I’m hoping I can try something similar on some of the black velvet and velveteen that I work with. Quite inspirational! Thank-you!

Oh see. I just looked up the term we used in turkish and I found the herringbone corresponding this term. watched the video tutorial you gave me and thanks for letting me know. I will correct the term now.

You have an interesting blog and surely I’ll follow it.

I think that the leaves stitch is named in English fly stitch.
Look at this Mary Corbet’s video http://www.needlenthread.com/2006/12/video-tutorial-herringbone-stitch_17.html to see the herringbone stitch: and this for fly stitches. Mary has great tutorial videos for many stitches. We can use threads or ribbons, the stitch names are the same.
